I also don't know of anydrives made by Apple Comp. Inc. with more than
35 Tracks. But with a special Controller Card it was possible to connect
TEAC drives (FD55F I suppose) and also some made by Phillips. Those
were double-sided and could write up to 80 Tracks per side.
Under plain dos (with a patch) one could use the first side as d1 and
the second one as d3 (resp. d2 and d4 for second. phys. drive).
Under ProDos it was possible to use a double sided 80Track disk as one
640K disk. The disk drives were ok, but I always had trouble with
data security because of quite bad floppy disks more then 10 years
ago:(.
