Yes, apparently the top memory the Apple IIgs is about 8 megs. In theory, it should be 16 megs, but I've never seen anyone try for more - everyone believes Apple, I guess. It _is_ possible to add memory expansion cards to the standard slots and use those as RAMDisks, though -- even on top of the 8 megs addressable memory.
