I had a problem with that, too. If Sequential is going to charge
for something like an image viewer, you'd hope it would at least
work properly.

I've never seen it run, but I was under the impression that SV Pro
was at least fast at decompressing jpeg's. The jpeg decompression is
quite math-intensive, so it's always going to be pretty slow on a GS.
To give an example, a 640x480 pixel image will require 2,764,800
16x16->32 bit multiplies just for the IDCT routines. Plus, another
921,600 shorter multiplies for the dequantization. On a machine that
doesn't have a hardware multiplication, that adds up to a lot of cycles.
Then, when you add in all the other code necessary to get an image,
it becomes a rather lengthy process.

Hmm, I can only suggest (insert shameless plug here) that you try
jpeGS. It's unfortunately a lot slower than SV Pro or JPEG Viewer,
but it's free, uses the Second Sight board, and can show 16 color
pictures without a Second Sight.
