System 6.01? .... why don't we pool some money
and hire a programmer or too to do a little bug fixing and enhancements
to the GS's system software? Granted, there are legal problems w/Apple
and stuff like that, but it would be nice to have some plan rather than
wait for an enternity ....

Would people be interested in pooling money for a project .... I was
kinda thinking someone like Joe Kohn could do this (isn't
Brutal Deluxe supposedly working on the update themselves). .... With
ShareWare Solutions II, he could broadcast this deal .... . Just an >idea

There should be no problem with selling '6.0.2 as a collection of
patches along with documentation. This may be what Brutal Deluxe plans to
do, possibly by summer. Since Brutal is already investing time and effort,
paying anything to another programmer could be counter-productive.

Having some kind of central 'clearing house' for user input could
speed things up consideably. There are already several patches available--
such as the recent HFS fix--- and a few users, like Nathan Mates, have
undertaken agressive bug hunts. Other users report problems, too. Though
Brutal is sure to be aware of many bugs, user input could be a great help
in '6.0.2 testing and nailing problems which might otherwise be missed.

One of the best parts of stirring up interest in '6.0.2 is that Brutal
will be encouraged to emphasize the project. And, once '6.0.2 is
completed, more users will be ready to part with $10-$20 for the System
6.0.2 patch diskette.
