Not too long ago at work (I'm in user systems i.e. tech support for the
university) I got a call saying, "My network card isn't working - I bought
the one the bookstore has, and it doesn't seem to fit!" Thinking he had
bought a PCI card or had microchannel ro something else silly, I asked him
what comptuer he had - he had an Apple IIGS and was trying to use an ISA card.
At the time ti was funny and almost hilarious, but now that I have an
ethernet hub, I'd love to have an easy way to network my old IIGS to my PC.
Is there anything out there that supports 10BaseT for the GS? Or am I stuck
with AppleTalk or a serial port connection? I can always write to the
disk drive in HFS and read it on the PC, but I have to use the 1.44 format.
Not having the fun apple card and instead the AE HD drive, are there some
drivers available to use the drive at 1.44 so I can transfer files that way?
Well 'nuff for now....
