my new & 1st IIGS
I recently was given a IIGS by a computer illiterate friend who just bought a
pentium/windows pc. I have a pentium 90 and have always been around
intel/dos/windows based machines. No choice of mine, that's just the way it
happened. Now I'm checking out this newsgroup and seeing that this machine
I've inherited has earned some very loyal users! So I've had good fortune in
this regard.
My IIGS has a memory expansion card with UA1-8 chips soldered in and UA9-16
and UB1-16 sockets empty, a 3.5" floppy, an image writer, and a host of
floppies from which it boots. There's no way this setup is going to be useful
to me when I can use my pentium. I'd like to learn about the OS, peripherals,
software, architecture, cpu, etc. What can I do to make this apparent legend
breath again? Can some expert email your phone#?
Thanks!
Rick
