Actually, maybe you won't. Our IIgs went to Spain and back a couple
years ago, and ran very happily on a 220-110 step-down transformer
(meaning: 110 volts, 50hz). We DID manage to get a universal power
supply installed in the Imagewriter II (though I had to go 'round the
back door to get it, since I was never able to convince the local Apple
dealer that such a beast existed). If you look at the power supply specs
(I believe I found them among the 20 pounds of less-than-high-tech
literature that Apple insisted on packing with the GS) you will find
that the frequency requirements are not real stringent, and while the
voltage requirements are not broad enough to handle plugging the GS
directly into 230, you ought to have no problem finding a step-down
transformer that will bring the voltage into range for you.
