Well, here I am, a newbie on the 'net, but not a total newbie to
computing. What I need to know is, just how do I go about downloading
binaries from newsgroups. Say for example, there's a neat pic in GIF
format (I can do GIF on my GS). Do I simply capture the text of the
binary, then convert it somehow? Or do I do some kind of other DL,
similar to ftp?
I've noticed that ProTerm captured ascii files, and also "scrollback"
items have strange codes in them that do not remove with the "remove
control characters" option in PT. I believe it has something to do with
the VT-100 emulation I must use with my provider. Help me out here,
folks. I'd like to begin reaping the fruits of the 'net. Thanks.
