I have a DuoDisk myself, and it did the same thing. A friend of
mine bent the contact pins at the DuoDisk end slightly, so they
fit tighter. It's never had that problem again.
Until then, I patched around it with software. There's an area
in DOS which looks for write protect. You can use a disk editor,
find the location, and write NOP instructions over the code.
