Re: Disk ][ head alignment procedure?

Hi again -- the Disk II guru of New Mexico .... replies!

I gotta admit that the technology of the 3.5" drives is a mystery to me...
They work totally differently than the simple 5.25" drives.

BUT, there is a place in Texas that fixes the 3.5" drives for just $15
labor plus the return UPS shipping.

I had a junked 3.5" platinum drive that needed zero-track alignment
adjustment. It could read-write its own disks ok, but not disks written
on other drives. I sent them the drive, and now it works o.k. (Only bug
is that it works as a "drive 2" not as a "drive 1," but I can live with
that limitation. Overall, I am happy with the service they provided.

Its name (I think) is ISR Repair Services, and its located at Leander
Texas (I think). It was announced in the October issue of Joe Kohn's
SHAREWARE SOLUTIONS II, the last remaining A2 publication.

: Do you have any info on aligning 3.5" IIgs drives?
