        Which means that the upgrades would tend to cost MORE, since there
would be FEWER to spread the cost of DOING the upgrade around to. 
Remember, the cost of a software upgrade is MORE than the diskettes and
the package ... SOMEONE has to eat while the code is being written!  And,
for "orphan" machines (such as the //gs, sigh) there isn't an INCREASING
market, but a DECREASING market.  On the IBM and the Mac, at least the
installed base is growing all the time.

But, consider ... how would you feel if your boss told you, "Well, you did
that LAST week, so you're getting paid 1/2 to do it again THIS week " ...
