I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but I fought that problem with
the Vulcan for a long time.  I began to think that hard drives just
took a lot of maintenance.  If you must keep fixing it, use the ProSel
utilities.  But You will get far better reliability from a high speed
SSCII card and hard drive.  More speed too.  My Vulcan is now nothing
more than a power supply.
