Actually I have a IIc with this done to it. The memory board has a slight curve to it but it does fit if you can live with things like that. I got the IIc in that configuration from the previous owner and it has been like that for years.

I can buy a no slot clock now and try it...but I'm not sure prodos 8 will be up to date in 2010...

The "general" ProDOS updater program on the System Disk will work,
at least until we're within several years of 2039 (the end of the
Apple II "year window").

Of course, so little software actually uses the window, you could go
on well past then, as long as you can disambiguate 19xx years.
