Admittedly, this bears careful watching, but it's too early to write off the
site completely.  I just connected to its HTTP server a few minutes ago, and
there was a notice there which implied that some kind of crash had occurred,
and explaining that they were in the process of (gradually) restoring
everything from tape backups.  Quite a number of directories are still
missing--not just the Apple II stuff.

So don't hold the funeral just yet.  There's still plenty of reason to hope
that it will survive.
