  Paid who for what? My car is a heck of a lot cleaner than the firewood
that used to burn day after day for thousands of years in Europe (and 
which deforested most of the continent). If anything, the Earth is
far cleaner now than it ever has been in the past, and that's due
to improvements in technology, not political groups.

  But this is way off topic, so I'll cease/desist from posting
further to the thread.
