No.  The Database file format changed significantly in AppleWorks 4.0.
AppleWorks GS has a snowball's chance in hell of being updated to
support the newer version.  I haven't looked closely at the file
structure for AW4, but it is a LOT different.  Even AppleWorks 3.0
crashes when trying to load it (usually).

Your best option is to output the data from AppleWorks 4.0 as a
tab-delimited text file, and recreate the structure in AppleWorks GS.
