Re: You people.

Why do we champion obsolete OS's?
Well, because we don't feel that a computer that can do what we need is
obsolete. As for whether Apple II's are used in business, what difference
does that make? I _do_ know of several small businesses that use Apple II's
(in fact, I printed out the forms that one generated on their IIGS using
GraphicWriter III), but the question of what a business does is completely
irrelevant to what someone uses at home or in school.
In fact, most businesses are still using DOS. Talk about an obsolete OS!
My IIGS has a scanner, 9600 bps modem, floptical drive, CD-ROM drive, and is
part of a network. I can do DTP, graphics, telecom, games and more with my
IIGS (not to mention music, at which it excels and is still one of the best
systems available for that type of work). I use Macs as well, and troubleshoot
the Windows boxes at work. My IIGS is more stable and plenty fast enough
(a 9 MHz GS with a RamFAST is pretty damn fast...in fact, it was faster than
my PowerBook 170--25 MHz 68030 with 32 bit bus and 25 MHz FPU--in several tests
that I ran earlier this year. Not too shabby.
