Are you asking, "what is base64?" Or, after you decode the base64 data
you wonder what the "picture format" is?
"base64", like uuencode, BINSCII, and BinHex, is a method of encoding
binary files into text that can be easily sent via email or posted to
newsgroups. base64 encoding usually is performed by email systems that
support MIME (an Internet standard for exchanging documents).
Bet I can guess your next question? ;)
I'm not aware of any Apple II program that supports base64 decoding
[or encoding]. But I'm sure that one must exist somewhere.
