FTP -> Mac -> GS
Its been a long time since I dealt with the Apple // world as I just
don't have the access to those computers like I used to. But, now I need
to set my father up with some telecom software so he can dial-in to work.
I found him an old 2400bps modem which is much faster than him so it'll
do for now, but I'm in need of some terminal software...I all I had was a
copy of Smartcom I from back in the days of a Smartmodem IIe inside my
Beltron N Apple II+ compatible!
My question is what steps do I need to take to get one of the files on
ground to work on the IIgs? I can get them to my Mac, but just copying
them to a ProDOS disk doesn't seem like the correct solution. I know the
various Mac/Unix/MS-DOS compression standards and uuencode/hqx stuff but
what's a .shk and the other stuff I see on ground?
(FWIW, this GS has very little memory and ver. 1.? ROMs so its being used
more as a glorified IIe than a IIgs.)
Thanks in advance,
