SuperDrive

I just purchased an Apple 3.5" FDHD drive and card used. My
impression...wow! It is sooooooo nice to be able to use high density
disks. It works _great_ with the PC Transporter in my system (no more
flaky 720k disks with that AppleDisk 3.5", or dealing with that ancient
360k Transdrive! Backups and general data storage are excellent too.

However, I have a few questions for those who've had experience
with them. It "appears" that some old games, such as World Games, ect.
that use copy protection of some kind will not run on this drive. I
assume using Copy II+ to make unprotected copies won't work either (with
the drive I mean). The solution is easy enough, just hook an 800k up to
the smart port and change slot settings (I HAD to put the card in Slot
5!). I've only got like one slot left... :(
Oh, and my last question is, has anyone else gotten
Renassianse(sp?) to work with this drive? It refuses to bring it up on
the OpenFile list. Deliverance works fine. Ren is at 1.04 I believe.
Is there a newer version from Vitesse? In Incider/A+, they had a rumor
long ago that Vitesse was planning an upgrade that would merge
Deliverance and Renassiance into one product...any truth to that?

	I'd sure love to see a writtable MS-DOS FST...(hint...hint).
Although, there may be a necessity for a text translator as I don't like
it when those little question marks show up in front of each line in EGOed!

Apple did a great diservice to the Apple II community when they
made so few of these drives and cards. Every Apple II (slotted one that
is) should have one of these in their systems. Plus, there's no more
worrying about when they'll stop making double-density...I have like 200
hundred some blank double density disks I no longer use... :)
