Re: Apple II Forum on AOL closing
>>>True, however, AOL is busily upgrading the windoze software but I don't
see anything for the mac. Mac version 2.6 was a cobbled together "update"
to shut up the Mac users. The windoze version has a better web browser,
support for members web pages, etc. In the past few weeks, Steve Case has
discussed the upcoming upgrade to the windoze version but hasn't said
anything about a Mac version. Also, while AOL dropped the A2 version
(citing its non-graphical interface) it has KEPT the MeSsy DOS version!
Can't get Bill upset!

Without going into specifics for obvious reasons... <grin>
1) There WILL be a new Mac client, and there is a legitimate reason why
it's running behind the Windows client. Unfortunately, I can't say any
more than Steve Case can.
2) If you are referring to PCAOL (which was originally bundled with the
GEOS Ensemble evironment and then later moved to stand alone status)... it
is NOT text based if I am correct. It's also the base for the client
software in many PDAs.
