They didn't - analogue RGB was used by a wide variety of companies (I
presume in a sense it still is - in that VGA monitors use analogue RGB -
although at different frequencies?) including Amstrad CPC machines -
which is why I'm half thinking of buying an old colour Amstrad monitor -
they were quite popular in the UK, and the monitors can be bought for
about 40-50ukp at the moment (also useful for amigas - as previously
mentioned) Just need to make up a cable and you're away.
