I found it best to take copies of everything you're going to patch and
toss them in a subdir with QFIX, then let it go to it.
It's been so long I can't recall if you're even supposed to patch the GS
startup file ProDOS (which isn't ProDOS -- P8 is). Looking at the QFIX
docs, no you don't patch your rootfile ProDOS, but rather P8 (in
/system), the pro.fst and basic.system.
