Did you try shift booting to prevent all those Inits and things
from loading. Perhaps one of them is causing a system conflict, although
the description of the problem kinda indicates that it could be something
worse. Before reformatting, I recommend doing:
(1) A shift-boot.
If it then works:
(2) Remove any non-apple inits, DA's, ect. and add them one by
one until you find the culprit.
BTW, did you add anything to your System Folder lately? If you
did, that could be the problem (the thing you added).
