Ok the plot thickens! I discovered ADTPro (which is an awesome concept
BTW) and was able to get it to spew bootstrapping data at both the
modem and printer ports so they ARE working at least for serial
comunications. Today the GS is locking up with the APpletalk on the
modem port so I really don't know what is going on there.

Polymorph thanks for the heads up about the RAM test program on the
Appleworks GS disk. It is running now so we'll see if anything goes
boom. The RAM card I have looks like a exactly like this RAM GS card
http://www.whatisthe2gs.apple2.org.za/ram-gs but it doesn't say RAM GS
on it and only the top bank has chips in it. It has a jumper on it
that is currently open but since I don't have a manual for the card
I've just left it the way I got it.
