One would hope not... however, that does raise the question of what the form factor will be. Aside from the earliest prototype being built in a briefcase, there isn't much said in that regard (unless I missed it).
If it's something similar to Ben Heckendorn's IIgs laptop then it's a comparitive steal (his custom laptops go for ~$2K). Obviously not everyone has that kind of cash to splash around - myself included - but I can see how the R&D involved in a project like this would make "competitive" pricing impossible - economies of scale and all that.
