I have trouble suddenly with the PC Transporter loading DOS, MS that is

All right. Here's the latest problem with my aged Apple
IIgs system. And I just want to make sure there just isn't
some trick to use before I go out and buy a new drive...

My PC Transporter is giving me headaches.

I just bought a Zoom 2400/9600 fax modem and some IBM
software came with it on 360 5.25" disks.

I'll admit, I haven't used my PCT in a while.

When I put in my DOS 6.0 boot disk, after, in IBM mode, it
does the memory test, the light on the drive goes on, but
the disk never really gets recognized. It just spins and it
says LOADING FROM DISK... but the sucker never does load.

I'd assume this is a bad drive? When I put in a foreign
disk, it WILL say "disk read error." But the boot disks I
try just will not do their job.

I have the PCT in slot 7 and have tried slot 4. It used to
always work fine. My IBM drive is a Transdrive with a 360k
5.25 and 3.5 (I don't have a boot disk for the 3.5").

Question #2: Does anyone use IBM fax software on their PCT
and what results can be expected? I mostly send, so maybe
this baby will work, once I can get the drive going. The sw
says it will work on the PC/AT...

Question #3: I have a Focus 120 drive on the way. How do I
partition a portion of it for MS-DOS? How do I get the PCT
to recognize that partition?

Thanks!
