The Apple II RoundTable on GEnie has a special sign up offer just for
Apple II users. Using this special offer will waive your first month's $8.95
fee and will give you an additional 6 hours of non-prime time usage (an $18
value), for a total of ten hours of non-prime time access without additional
charges, during your first month of use. (During this first month, prime
time access, and usage beyond the 10 hours will result in billing at the
applicable standard rate.) Following months allow 4 hours of non-prime time
usage for the basic monthly fee of $8.95. For current rates details type
RATES at any prompt.
1. Set your communications software for half-duplex (local echo) at 300,
1200, 2400, or 9600 baud. Recommended communications parameters 8
data bits, no parity and 1 stop bit.
2. Dial toll-free in the U.S. at 1-800-638-8369 (or in Canada at
1-800-387-8330). Upon connection, wait for the U#= prompt.
3. At the U#= prompt, type JOINGENIE and press <Return>.
4. Respond to prompted questions about your screen width, and country of
residence.
5. At the offer code prompt enter DTD524 to get this special offer.
6. Have a major credit card ready. In the U.S., you may also use your
checking account number. (There is a $2.00 monthly fee for all
checking accounts.) In Canada, VISA and MasterCard only.
Once you are online, you can reach the Apple II RoundTable (A2) by
typing A2 or M645 at any GEnie prompt.
