It sounds to me like your ADB ports may be coming loose from the PC board
inside the keyboard. These are machine-soldered, and under some cable
stress, hairline fractures will appear in the connections. It's something
I have to deal with in audio boards quite frequently.
The solution is simple...remove the bottom of the keyboard to gain access
to the board, and heat up the solder points under the ADB connectors. I'm
not familiar with your particular keyboard, so I can't be more precise
than that. But it's a starting point, anyway.
As for what keyboards you can use...almost all of the Macincrash ADB keyboards
will work with the ][gs...the exceptions I have seen here are the keyboard
that splits in half (requires a software update), and, I believe the
keyboards with the non-latching caps-lock keys function properly, but the
lights don't work. At least that's what I've read.
Personally, I like the GS keyboard A9M0330, if for no reason than the
CONTROL key is in the right place.
