My assumptions are based upon years of experience developing software for the
Apple II and for the internet, Mr. Turley. I also have not declared my
opinions as law; I HAVE presented facts with my opinions.
(By the way, ^^^^ THAT is how and when you use a semicolon in english grammar)

If your project can provide services to Apple II users beyond what I have
presented as feasible, I URGE you to append the facts to your original post.

It isn't my feet that I'm worried about, Mr. Turley. My big concern is that
you're setting up this community for a fall. There is quite a bit of
enthusiasm concerning web access these days for all platforms, and it would be
very easy for somebody with ill motives to create a situation which could
ultimately extinguish the Apple II flame. I for one do NOT want to see this
happen, and thus I feel obliged to act.

Well, obviously, I am not involved in _your_ project. I hate to think that you
have such illusions of grandeur as to think that no one else could possibly
understand _your_ project without being directly involved.

Rest assured, my opinion of what it takes to produce a web browser for the
Apple II is far from blind.

The negativity I have expressed has a very specific purpose, which I have
attempted to make more clear in this posting. I _have_ researched the
information which you have made available, and I have presented my opinion
about the path of your project along with FACTual information relevant to our
pursuit in order to clarify what you have left out. This I have done to
HELP this community better understand the situation. If you were dedicated
to this community instead of your own personal publicity agenda, perhaps this
wouldn't be necessary.

I have left you alone in the past as well, and it certainly wasn't due to lack
of presence on your part. There have been many times when I would have liked
to throw in my $0.02 about your opinions, but I didn't because I have tact,
and frankly it wasn't any of my business. Unfortunately, this time you've hit
too close to home, and I cannot allow it to go unnoticed.

I have to agree with you that comp.sys.apple2 doesn't need a watch dog, but
in your case I am willing to make an exception. Your committment to the Apple
community is indeed a very strange thing.

However, I'm am not so rigid as to condemn a man forever based upon past
mistakes. But please, in the future, don't make promises to this crowd that
you can't keep or don't support with evidence. THAT is called vaporware, and
the anxiety created by the wait for such a product is often the straw that
pushes the remaining Apple II user to make "the post" on
comp.sys.apple2.marketplace. There may be a place for this strategy in the
cutthroat world of high profile commercial software, but not here.

This is very professional of you, and I appreciate it. I look forward to
cooperating with other Apple II enthusiasts to find new ways of exploiting our
investment.
