==> You have a well known problem with the IIGS keyboard.  The solder
connections between the ADB connectors and the circuit board need to be
resoldered.  It should take all of 15 minutes (maybe) and can be done by anyone
who is confortable using a soldering pencil (15-25 watts).
 
==> Turn the keyboard over and remove the three screws.  Remove the top trim
piece, remove the keyboard.  Blow out the dusk and fuzz.  Resolder the four
tabs that attach the offending connector to the circuit board. Redo the other
side, if you wish. Reassemble and off you go.
 
==> It has happened that the circuit board develops a crack out there from
mishandling.  If that is the story, tracer wire is called for; but that is the
exception in most cases.
