Transfering Apple2 files to Mac

Hello,

I have a friend who wants to transfer files from the Apple2
to a Mac, but he doesn't have a 3.5 disk drive on the 
Apple2 side; hence, he's unable to do a straight copy.  I 
remember reading of a PC-Apple2 program package that 
transfered over a null-modem cable.  Is that program still
around?  

Is there a way to do a straight transfer of files from an
Apple2 to a Mac (via some kind of cable connection)?  Any
suggestions would be appreciated.
