I'd guess it would. If the HFS FST got the block numbers wrong, and
now it gets them right, you might have problems. I'd do this: Make a
backup copy. Then take the disk to a Mac, and run Norton or whatever
over it. If Norton is happy with the volume, I guess you can assume it
is indeed still alive and well. Then patch your HFS FST, and unless
there is a problem Norton missed, you will have a functioning and
stable HFS partition without any data loss.
