Re: Help I.D.ing cards.

Buggie@musca.Unm.Edu went bobbing for a clue, quoting this:

    | : There was also a strange card in there that looks to me to be
    | : Hard Disk controller of some kind. It was in slot 7 (I moved
    | : it to slot 5). I do not have it hooked up to any device but
    | : when I run Slotscan it identifies the card as:
    | :
    | : Semi-intelligent disk Card
    | : Drive 1 Size: 32773 Blocks (16387K, 16 Meg)
    | : Drive 2 Size: 32773 Blocks (16387K, 16 Meg)

My guess is the Xebec SASI HD card, because the above is what I get in
SlotScan from my Sider. :)

BUE| I would be surprised if the unenhanced IIe has a SCSI HD connected
    | to it. The owner would have enhanced the ROM chips....

I disagree; the computer I got my Xebec card in was NOT enhanced -- it
did however have a Titan Tech Accellerator card in slot 3 (Xebec in 7)
to take care of that problem. And since the installation software for
the Xebec is in DOS 3.3 with ProDOS, CP/M, and Pascal doohickies, there
is no reason to believe that the machine (at the time) needed enhance-
ment. Does the SpeedDemon card also found in this machine have a 65C02
like the Titan card I have? If so, that settles that...
