The exact same thing happens to my Quantum FireBall 1080MB drive. I
believe the RF is sending various signals to the drive, and thus it
blinks randomly.
My FireBall was advertised as having the "New MR Head Technology"- its
access time was 9ms as opposed to 11ms that other Quantum FireBall 1080Mb's
had.

I'm not sure wether to send the drive back and get another one or just
continue using my Apple HS SCSI...the RF does fly with my SyQuest 44MB,
especially in ProDOS 8.
