I don't know why the holdup.  I suspect it's because GEnie's official
net-folk are hideously overworked.  Ironically, I don't think it would be
nice if someone took on "an 'official' role", as you put it, because it
would probably mean it would get posted much later than it does.

Please, no one suggest I take it on.  Please?  GEnie is my only
connection to the Internet.  Just posting the occasional message
takes my capabilities (or perhaps GEnie's :-)....
