How to copy data from 5.25" to 3.5" (Ronald)

I'm not that familiar with newsgroups and apple equipment, but perhaps somebody of you can help me !
A friend of me has on his work an apple 2e, which receives constantly new data and stores it on two 5.25" drives. 
They now like to copy data from this PC to another (more modern) PC with 3.5" drives. They've tried it with KERMIT,
but that didn't work. 
 
Has somebody an idea ? Can anybody help my friend ?
