Upgrading to a PC clone

Well, thanks to a friend's help I finally started building me a PC clone
system.  It all started when I got more money for August contract work
then usual.  Then my friend offered to let me borrow some stuff so I can
get started.  All I had to do is buy the base stuff.  Here is what I got:
 
Shuttle 486 PCI motherboard
 w/2 EIDO PCI ports, 2 serial (16550) ports, 1 EPP/ECP parallel port,
     up to 2.88 floppy controller, and PS/2 mouse port.
 AMI flash WinBIOS, Energy Star compliant, 3 ISA, 3 PCI 1 ISA/PCI share
 slot, 256k cache, upgradable to 1 meg., 4 72 pin SIMM sockets for up to
 256Meg. RAM. versatile configuration and supports all current 486 and
 overdrive CPUs.
4 Meg. 70nS SIMM
AMD DX/4 100 CPU
Sony 3.5" drive
 
I got to borrow the rest to make a working system.  It's going to be nice
when done! (more RAM, bigger hard drive, etc.)  But I running now.
I've been using the two laptops (386/20 & 486/33) for some time now so
this is not totally new to me.  I got SLIP working with a friends system.
I can now use Netscape and see what all the buzz is about.
 
Anyway, I say all of this to say:
 1) I told you my next computer would NOT be a Mac!
 2) On a more positive note I am willing to help those Apple II users who
    choose to make a real difference and ditch Apple.  My mailbox is
    open to those who have serious questions about upgrading.  I've been
    thinking of even starting a Web page for this kind of help.
    Hopefully together we can form something useful in the process.

Yep, I'm still planing to use my GS!  Between AppleWorks and ProTERM
I still can get more work done with these two hard to replace items.
I just rearranged my desk to support two computers!
