If you are _copying_ data from the spreadsheet to the word processor
(via the clipboard) then you must be using AppleWorks 3.0 or later, as
this was the first version that supported this.

In all versions of AppleWorks, you should be able to _print_ a
spreadsheet to the clipboard, and import that into the word procesor,
with all formatting intact.

The "zoom" setting has an effect on this:

If you have the spreadsheet zoomed to show formulas, then printing to
the clipboard will produce unformatted numbers.

If you have the spreadsheet unzoomed, showing calculated values, then
printing to the clipboard will produce formatted numbers.

I tried this in AppleWorks 2.1 and 3.0 (I don't have 2.0 handy) and it
behaved the same for both of them.

Quick Click Calc from ByteWorks might (I haven't tried outputting
formatted text from it yet, so I don't know either way).  Not sure
about AppleWorks GS either.
