I didn't think it was supposed to.  The sound goes into the A-to-D
input of the Ensoniq chip.  It is then up to the software to do
something with it.

The SoundMeister does not automatically feed input sound back to the
outputs - to do so would require at least a software controlled switch,
unless it always mixed the sound input with the output sound from the
Ensoniq (probably not a good idea).

You'll need an alternative audio path for your CD audio output to be
able to hear the sound while you're recording it.
