I recently connected a GS to a PowerBook via a null modem set up. Yeah, I know
I coulda AppleTalked them together, but this was a one-shot deal. Anyway, I
used external modem cables on the GS and PowerBook, both terminating in male
DB-25s. I connected them together using a gender-changer and a null modem
adapter I picked up from CompUSA. I fired up ProTERM on the GS side, and
ZTerm on the Mac side and set up a local connect (a phone entry without a
phone number) on each side. Worked like a charm. I also cranked the baud rate
way up (38200?) and it really lfew. I'd assume a similar setup would work
between a GS and a PC.
