All the good comms programs are commercial, if very reasonably priced.
ProTerm 3.1 is the classic, AnsiTerm 2.1 (?) gives you nice colour ANSI to
boot, and Spectrum 2.0 is fully GS/OS based (but don't expect it to work
well with a fast modem if you have an unaccelerated GS).
There are comms programms around for free that do the basics, like
MiniTerm, but I wouldn't consider them for "serious" data surfing.
