Hi! Glad to have you on board as a new SARAsaur!
The /// uses the original version of ProDos called SOS - for Sophisticated
Operating System.  It must boot its OS from startup, along with a couple of
other files - one with drivers, one with a program or language. I would
recommend you call my UG - Washington Apple Pi in Rockville, Md. We have
some 250+ PD disks for the /// - you can order them even if you are NOT
a member - though the cost IS higher. I would suggest you get our
catalog on disk (ASCII version), System Utilities (similar to ProDos
Utls) and AppleWriter 4.1. NOTE the /// has a //+ emulation mode, but
will NOT run Apple II native programs (basically anything above
48K) without a set of two plug-in cards (Titan ///+//e) that are
(unfortunately) virtually impossible to get these days.. BUT the ///
is still very powerful for many basic tasks... it can also work
with 800K and 1.4 MB drives, SCSI HDs, etc. We are also working on a
project now to have a driver for the ZIP Drive written for us. ($25.00
