I seem to be out of luck getting the NEC CDR-25 CD-ROM device to work
with my Apple IIGS ROM 3, with a Apple High Speed SCSI Card. On board, there
is also a Apple 1 Meg expansion board and ZipGSX 9/32. All the SCSI drivers
from System 6.0.1 are loading from my harddisk. My harddisk is on ID 4,
and CD ROM is on ID 1.
I tried it with and without termination on, and what happens is the
device will crash out into the monitor when the booting sequence from the
harddisk starts, it boots for a while, and during the first polling it
crashes.
I went over to my friend's ROM 1 machine, GS-RAM Plus 3Mb and a
TransWarp, put the Apple High Speed SCSI and the CD-ROM, send the machine
into the Apple's SCSI Utilities program (from the HS SCSI card), no
problems looking at the device at all...
So what have I gone wrong ? An incompatible CD-ROM ? The CD-ROM
is working as I have hooked it up and running on a Powerbook 100.
Any suggestions ?
