Re: "TWGS not friendly with Appletalk???"
Zelix,
Excuse my not quoting the crux of your msg here, but I'm not quite up to
speed yet on handling msgs around here...
Yes, I am indeed using ISSI parts on my 14Mhz TWGS, and for me they have
proven to be very stable... so stable that I would go so far as to
reccomend them for use on tweaked up TWGS's.
However... I have =never= been able to make those exact same chips work
worth a barn-owl's hoot in a Zip or any version... (and I =know= the Zip
almost inside out!) I =suspect= that if pullup resistors were used on the
address lines (maybe data lines also) they might work, but I've never tried
myself (never tried pulldowns either...)
BTW, I have tested two other TWGS's at 14Mhz with ISSI IS61C256-15N parts
for the cache, and they too have performed flawlessly for me. (of course
anyone trying to tweak up their TWGS may have different results, if for
no other reason than the chips coming from a different lot)
