Free VT100 emulator

Hi,

A friend of mine wants to use her IIe for connecting to vax.
Is there any free emulator I can download for her?  And a tricky question.
How can I get the program onto her IIe. I am using a mac with HD and DD
3.5'' drive.  I assume she has only 5 1/4 drives from the way she said it.
And she has no modem, even if she does she can't do donwloading without
any terminal program (old egg-chicken problem :-)  Is there a good 
solution?

also is there such a thing as an internal modem for apple IIe?  I know it
has 8 expansions slots inside, but...?  If she is to use an external modem,
what kind of cable does she need?  TIA for any info?
