I don't know why you do it that complicated. I opened the jacket with a razor
blade and pulled out the disc, cleaned it and put it into a jacket of a new
disc.  

BTW... if anyone wants to know how to clean a cd-rom: i use tooth-brush-paste.
It is ideal to smooth and clean the surface of a poorly handled cd-rom.
Use only a bit. Cover the complete surface with it, using your finger and 
clean it again with (warm) water. I did this several times and it works great.
