re:Zip chip death

I saw the original post, but did not reply because my ZipChip failure
was not sudden like yours.  I received one from a friend, with no
instructions on where it goes and no diagnostics disk.  By accident I
put it in a socket BACKWARDS and that cooked it -- either no startup or
it starts but then I get an endless series of spaces and beeps.  Years
later I tried fiddling with it again and broke a couple pins...
