I haven't seen that posting. What did you want to know about it?

The source is available on caltech and grind. Some UNIX
implementations might need some extra functions (the "getopt" library
call is not provided on all systems).

I've made some modifications to my copy of the source - my version can
add a Binary II header as it extracts the BinSCII data, so it
preserves the Apple II directory information.

No, but there is a portable NuFX archive management program called
"nulib" that is distributed in UNIX-compatible C source format. It was
written by Andy McFadden. It works on UNIX or MS-DOS, and could
probably be ported to other platforms without too much trouble (the
main difficulty would be user interface, as it is a simple command-line
utility).

(NuFX is the name of the archive format created and managed by ShrinkIt.)

Nulib can create NuFX archives, extract files from them and list the
contents. It also has special options for handling Binary II headers
(not as easy to use as ShrinkIt).

I don't remember where I got the NULIB source from - I don't have it
online any more, only a compiled version for my UNIX host system.

The last time I looked for it, I think I found it on an archive site
somewhere in Germany. There must be other copies around.

I _might_ still have a copy of the source on my PC at work, as I also
have a PC compiled version.
