Inform 5.5 GS v1.0b4 will be uploaded shortly to the IF archive at
ftp.gmd.de in the /incoming/if-archive directory. I don't think there's
much demand, so I'm not posting it to binaries, but I will honor email
requests.
There are a couple of bugs in v1.0b3 that only crop up if you use some of
the more obscure command line switches (a, l, n, o, and t.) Normally
these aren't critical, but for those interested in learning the z-machine
by watching the compiled results, they are handy.
At any rate, these bugs have been fixed and I managed to squeeze almost
5k off the executable. Currently I haven't added temporary file
support. Compiling with all switches on easily uses in excess of 1.25
megs of memory, so if anyone out there is short on memory and wants a
version that makes use of temporary files, let me know and I'll make that
my next priority.
Currently I only know of one person besides myself who has made any use
what-so-ever of the GS version of Inform. I'm very curious to know if
anyone other GS folks use Inform or are even interested in interactive
fiction.
